Bathtub Refinishing in Dallas Tx
Dallas Bathtub Services provides bathtub, tile, shower and vanity refinishing services in the Dallas, Texas area. I am an owner operated business established full time in 1992. Replacing a bathtub can cost upwards of $5,000 or more depending on the conditions needed to get the new bathtub back into the home. In other words since the bathtub is installed before trim carpentry is completed you may need to had a wall removed or doors widened to get a new tub in. Also the tile around the bathtub will need to be removed because the edges of a bathtub has a lip that goes behind the tile. Dallas bathtub services can bond a new surface into the old surface by first creating microscopic pores in the old surface then using a bonding agent borrowed from the dental industry for porcelain work called silane. The final step is 9 to 12 coats of multi resin copolymer glaze that provides a great shine and a very durable surface that will extend the life of your bathtub, shower or tile for years to come! I can give you an exact quote if you send a picture to me at DallasBathtubServices@gmail.com or text it to me at 972-391-7994.

Bathtub Refinishing Works Permanently
In the past bathtub refinishing was really just simply bathtub painting. It was completed using epoxy paint and it was extremely popular for apartments and hotels.
Today's bathtub refinishing is a far cry from that! Dallas Bathtub Refinishing provides a permanent solution not an inferior service that will only last a short time. Although these 1990's model epoxy D.I.Y. kits are still being sold in home improvement stores they are old, outdated technology and will leave the bathtub looking dull, yellow and peeling before long. In fact the product loves to make it appear as if it peels or does not look right then you (the consumer) must have done something wrong. It is fairly complicated and most people will give the benefit of the doubt so not if but when it peels they will think "I should have used that little piece of sandpaper they gave me longer" or "I must not have cleaned it well enough... maybe I should have bought 2 kits!"
Bathtub Refinishing is Not Bathtub Painting
The problem with the epoxy kits.... let me rephrase that. One of the many problems with the epoxy kits is that it is paint. When you paint a surface that is meant for water you are painting a non porous, slick surface. To be extremely honest my molecular bonding agent cost more than the D.I.Y. Epoxy Kit.
A true Bathtub, Shower, Tile Refinishing Professional will never use paint and never use brush and rollers.
Dallas Bathtub Pros
Dallas Bathtub Refinishing Procedures
I always use synthetic porcelain as my finish or top coat. Now, that is just the final step in a multistep process to make sure the finish coat of synthetic porcelain stays looking great and is a permanent solution.
The first step is a chemical rinse that dissolves the oils and soap residue. Next I use an etching stone to create pores and microscopic scratches in the old surface. I then use a molecular bonding agent that is hand rubbed and worked into those pores. The final application is synthetic porcelain. This is a systematic approach that chemically welds the new surface into, not on top of the old surface.
Bathtub refinishing is not only a way to make the old or out dated look new again it also has a health advantage to it. Porcelain bathtubs contain lead. When they are glazed it seals the lead off but when they become worn or damaged. The lead can actually leech into the bathwater causing lead poisoning especially for young children that take the extra long bath play time.
If you have an old bathtub that is worn the fix is not extremely expensive and I offer a flat rate price list. Simply click on the Bathtub Refinishing Dallas.
Most Doctors don't even know about lead dangers in Tubs
A recent video was released about a family that was remodeling a home built in the 1900's. The children were diagnosed with lead poisoning and they immediately checked the plumbing but no unacceptable amounts of lead were found in the water. The same thing with the soil and the paint on the walls.
Finally the Doctor told the Mother to buy a handful of test strips from a home improvement store and test everything the children come in contact with including door knobs. Everything was negative. That night as the mother bathed the children she thought to test the tub and sure enough the porcelain bathtub was leeching lead into the bath water. The major tub manufacturers admitted that pre 1984 tubs had more lead in them than the do today but they still contain lead. As long as the glaze is nice and shiny as a rule of thumb the tub is sealed off. When it dulls or appears dirty then it is time to get the tub refinished to seal off any dangerous lead.
I have personally refinished several bathtubs that were red flagged by the city because of lead risk. So it is a very real concern!

When you have a surface correctly refinished using the correct bathtub refinishing process that is endorsed by the Professional Bathtub Refinishing Association. Those surfaces can be expected to last over 20 years. Please don't confuse the bathtub refinishing process with the inferior bathtub painting using the D.I.Y. epoxy kit. Those kits are using 1990's out dated technology with a paint that was never intended to be used below the water line. Water resistant and water proof are two completely different things.
The bathtub refinishing process includes molecular bonding agents that were developed by the Aerospace Industry. These molecular bonding agents are part of the synergistic process that makes bathtub refinishing a permanent solution.
Bathtub Refinishing is not only a great way to make your Home look better but it also can increase the value of your home and make your home healthier by sealing off the lead that is found in porcelain bathtubs
